Get ready for more Shrinking!
Apple TV+ has renewed the critically-acclaimed comedy series for a second season before its first, 10-episode season has even concluded.
Co-created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, Shrinking “follows grieving therapist Jimmy who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives…including his own,” per Apple TV+’s synopsis.
Segel stars as Jimmy, while, in one of his first TV roles, Harrison Ford plays Paul. Shrinking‘s cast also includes Jessica Williams as Gaby, Christa Miller as Liz, Lukita Maxwell as Alice, Micahel Urie as Brian, and Luke Tennie as Sean.
The comedy debuted on Apple TV+ with Shrinking Season 1 Episode 1, “Coin Flip,” and Season 1 Episode 2, “Fortress of Solitude,” in January.
Shrinking Season 1 Episode 8, “Boop,” premieres on Friday, March 10, on Apple TV+.
Per the streaming service, “Boop” will see “Paul and Brian come to Jimmy’s aid when Alice starts acting out. Liz and Sean support Gaby by accompanying her to an event.”
Upon its renewal, Brett Goldstein aptly tweeted, “Shrinking is growing,” with several celebratory emojis, adding, “Thanks to everyone who’s been watching!”
“We have loved the engaging, touching, and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said.
“We can’t wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have for season two,” Cherniss added.
Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence and Goldstein are under overall deals, and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions produce Shrinking. Lawrence, Segel, Goldstein, Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer serve as executive producers. Lawrence, Segel, and Goldstein wrote the first episode, which Ponsoldt directed.
